Untitled by Elizabeth Marks Nakamarra

Elizabeth Marks Nakamarra was born in 1959. She began painting after her husband, Mick Namarari Tjapaltjari, passed away. The main site referred to in Elizabeth’s paintings is the Lightning and Rain Dreaming site of Kalipinpa, north of Kintore. The central design in the painting is a rockhole at Kalipinpa, a major Water Dreaming site, north of Sandy Blight Junction. The other lines show the sandhills surrounding the area. The photo doesn’t do justice to this painting with excellent movement. Elizabeth’s work is present in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, Artbank and others. Cat. 208001
