Mina Mina Dreaming by Betsy Napangardi Lewis

Betsy Napangardi Lewis was born in 1940. She paints every day and likes to experiment with new techniques and styles. Mina Mina Dreaming describes the journey of a group of women who travelled east, gathering snake vine and performing ceremonies. The central motif in this painting is snake vine. It is sacred to the women and has many uses. Betsy’s work is held in the collections of Artbank, Aboriginal Art Museum Utrecht, Art Gallery of NSW and private collections. Cat. 79/06
