Kapitu Kapitu by Ngipi Ward

In this painting Ngipi painted a series of water sites that belong to her husband. They used to travel between these water sites, kapitu – kapitu (water to water). One area, Wandantjarri, features a big deep hole where the creatures from the dreamtime drank from. One time a wedge tailed eagle with a face like a man swooped down, and took a young child. This is part of the tjukurpa at this site. Cat. 08-269
