Winparrku by Eunice Napanangka Jack

Eunice Napanangka Jack was born in 1940 and started painting in 1992. Her paintings are interpretations of her country near Lake Mackay. This painting depicts her mother’s country at Winparrku, West of Kintore. The circles represent waterholes and rockholes that were once an important source of water for the people living in the area. Eunice often goes back to this country to go hunting with her grandchildren. She realises the importance of passing on the old traditions, especially through art and storytelling.
